Dr. Abdullah Al Yahya’ey

Chairman of the Board

Dr. Abdullah Al Yahya’ey received his undergraduate degree from the University of Qatar (1988), a graduate degree from The University of Wales (1997), a graduate degree from the University of London (2000) and a doctorate degree from the University of Dundee (2005).

Dr. Abdullah Al Yahya’ey is the Country President of Mubadala Investment Company’s (MIC) Oman Representative Office (‘ORO’). He has occupied this position since joining MIC in September 2007 and, since his appointment, he has made significant achievements in setting up the Mubadala ORO, managing Mubadala’s interests in the Mukhaizna Enhancement Oil Recovery project, Habiba Gas Exploration & Development and block 54 Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement, as well as contributing to various MIC and Mubadala Petroleum (MP) new business development opportunities worldwide.

From 2014 to 2016 he was Country President of MP in Kazakhstan and Russia. From 2015 to 2017, he was the Chairman for MP’s Tender Board Committee and, since 2011 he has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors of SMN Power Holding Company SAOG (Chairman for SMN Barka Power Company SAOC & Vice Chairman for Al Rusail Power Company SAOC). He also supports Masdar’s business development opportunities in Oman and, in particular, the Wind Farm Project in Southern Oman. Prior to working for Mubadala, from 1989 to 2007, he held several leadership positions in the Oman Ministry of Petroleum and Minerals, and the Ministry Oil and Gas.

Mr. Sami Al-Riyami

Vice-Chairman of the Board

Mr. Sami Al Riyami is a professional with long experience in the field of Financial Management and Accounting. He currently works at the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund, where he serves as Assistant Director of Accounting. Sami has a successful career path that has exceeded 18 years, during which he has developed his skills and experience in the field of account management and organizing financial matters.

Due to his dedication and commitment, Sami has become a leader in his field, contributing significantly to the oversight of the accounting and financial aspects of the Pension Fund. He has a deep understanding of accounting and financial laws, and advanced analytical skills that help him make strategic decisions effectively.

Sami’s long experience reflect a comprehensive knowledge of his field, making him a pivotal force in the team. Always strives to improve financial performance and ensure that corporate objectives are effectively achieved.

Ms. Hannah  Al Bustani

Board Member

Hannah Al Bustani has nearly two decades of experience in commercial roles, particularly within the utility and financial sectors.

Hannah is currently Vice President, Asset Management at Tabreed where she leads the commercial department, responsible for managing key stakeholder relationships as well as driving organic growth across the UAE.  At Tabreed, Hannah has led significant negotiations of contractual arrangements, built a robust team as well as established the regulatory affairs function.

Hannah joined Tabreed in 2014 as a Senior Manager, Business Development, leading acquisitions, and greenfield developments, before joining Asset Management in 2017.  Prior to joining Tabreed, Hannah gained extensive experience in the banking sector.  Hannah was previously at Mubadala GE Capital PJSC, underwriting debt for corporate and acquisition financing.  Hannah started her career within Investment Banking at HSBC Bank Middle East, where she advised on project financing, mergers acquisitions and restructuring across a range of sectors including financial institutions and petrochemicals within the MENA region.

Hannah holds a BSc in Management from Lancaster University, Lancaster, UK, and is a Certified Director by the Hawkamah Institute of Corporate Governance.

Mr. Cidar. C. M

Board Member

A senior Financial Management professional with more than three decades of experience in Finance and Investment management function in multi-million turnover and multinational business environments.

He is currently the Director of Finance and Investment of PMA International, one of the biggest business groups in Oman and the promoters of Galfar Engineering SAOG and MFAR International.

He oversees the Group’s investments across Asia and the Middle East, presiding over multiple Boards, and is actively involved in investments across five business verticals: hospitality, construction and contracting, manufacturing, public infra, education, and specialty retail.

In addition, Cidar continues to serve as Investment Advisor to Dr. P. Mohamed Ali, a position that he has held since 1985. He actively manages the Group’s Corporate Finance and Acquisition transactions, and takes a leading role in facilitating growth and continuity across portfolio companies.

Mr. Atef Al Breiki

Board Member

As Senior Vice President – Operations and Maintenance, Atef oversees all plants operations in Tabreed’s portfolio, leading more than 500 employees towards operational excellence and digital transformation.

Atef has more than 15 years of experience in the utility sector, both public and private. He also holds a master’s degree of Business Administration from London Business School, UK.

Mr. Asad Al Hassani

Board Member

Asad Al Hassani holds a degree in Finance Administration and currently is section head in the Investment Department at Diwan of Royal Court Pension Fund.

He is a seasoned professional with more than 12 years of experience handling investments at the Pension Fund.

Mr. Salik Malik

Board Member

Salik has over two decades of experience in the fields of financial management, compliance and risk management, business leadership, and collaborating with stakeholders both internal and external.

With wide ranging wealth of experience across multidisciplinary areas, Salik’s strong proven abilities includes Corporate Finance, Debt Capital Market, Treasury Management, FP&A, Investor Relations, Credit Ratings, Financial Modelling, Project Evaluation, and Statutory Compliance.

Salik joined Tabreed in 2009 and his track record in leading and managing operations has assured him of his qualifications for the role of Vice President Finance. At Tabreed Salik is leading the Group Finance Function and during his tenure has been part of several successful financing deals including AED 2.6 billion acquisition Financing and couple of refinancing through Debt Capital Markets and first Green Revolving Credit Facility in 2023.

Prior to joining Tabreed, Salik held responsible positions across various industry verticals including District Cooling, Contracting, Manufacturing, Utility/Mining, and Auditing. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant with ICAI, India, and has a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Madras.
